We first shot the couple when they were newlyweds. This round, junior and elder tagged along. It was all fun and many light-hearted moments shared, and especially cute for a child who has just unlocked walking skills roaming all over the set.

German cars are a common sight on our roads and what we have shot are two of the more popular marques here – A BMW F10 and a Mercedes CLA180. Owned by a husband and wife team, the two lovebirds are both fun-loving and professional at the same time, which made our shoot a breeze.

With almost 300bhp to boot, we are loving the Volkswagen Golf R’s under-the-radar looks and it’s exhilarating raw pace and refinement – which is totally perfect for the traffic scene here. And being an all-rounder is a good thing – you can drive to the supermarket or laundry dry-cleaner without being labelled as an overkill. This highly regarded family hatch does nought to hundred under 5 seconds, creeping into Porsche 911 category for less than half the price, something an adrenaline junkie dad can seriously consider for his next ride.

One of the more exciting C-segment cars we see today is the Audi A3 that gives consumers a sportier choice over the bread & butter cars – without breaking the bank. Here, we have one in signature Glacier White, donning subtle yet tasteful enhancements made to both interior and exterior of the car.

The M3 is a performance legend in the conti-world. Enthusiasts often feel that familiar stirring in adrenaline when presented the chance to drive one. A twin-turbo 3.0L straight-6 engine churns no less than 430 horses and 550 Nm of torque beneath that hood. Dedicated tuning and performance upgrade options are available at Maximus Racing Pte Ltd and this shoot was done right here at ground zero.

There’s a new kid on the block and it is immensely bold and sophisticated, yet at the same time emanates geek culture when seated inside. This is the new 276bhp AWD Arteon R-Line gran turismo, powered by a 2.0L turbocharged TSI engine pushing 350 Nm of torque, and paired to the quick-shifting 7-speed DSG. Century run a respectable 5.6s. A Dynaudio sound system comes standard in the R-Line package. In other words, the Arteon is born to assault the premium car marques.

Once in a while, a high powered car comes along for a shoot and we had no reason not to oblige. Here’s the F430 in its unmistakable Ferrari red, shot right in the middle of a heavy and dense downtown core district of Singapore.

The MINI Cooper S Coupé & Roadster – These are the Polaroid of the automotive world. Fun, hipster-ish, elusive, remnants of retro and a little magical to own. They say one should drive this small, sporty car with handling of a go-kart at least once in a lifetime. We took to the streets with a bunch of them. Yum.

We can’t believe the current model of the VW Scirocco is celebrating a decade old in a year’s time. In all honesty, car designer Walter de Silva, has done an exceptional job on the Scirocco with a design that withstood the test of time. Like most owners of this sleek, low riding coupe, XY is passionate about giving his roc a touch of individualism. And the result is what you are looking at now – an immaculately groomed Stage 1-tuned dark knight donning Brembo BBK with yellow calipers on forged Breytons rims – that we shot over the lunar new year period.

We often treat our first cars like the best thing that has ever happened to us, pampering and spending generously on car modifications, grooming and whatnots. For Justin, he took it a little further – in a span of two short years, his level of vested modification topped 15 grand, by giving his Mazda 3 a full JDM KnightsSport kit overhaul, fitted OZ sports rims and original Akrapovic custom tailpipes, just to name a few. And for this particular shoot, we paired it with Jovin, a petite and fresh faced model to personify the car’s varied peculiarity. Enjoy.
