We created a series of local stock images for the moovel Group GmbH – a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler AG based in Stuttgart. The urban mobility company is striving to make cities smarter and has set itself the goal of simplifying mobility and improving people’s quality of life. Some of these images will be used in their collaterals for the Singapore market. Released for commercial usage.

The MG Rover MG F was the first new model designed as an MG since the MGB that was produced from 1962 to 1980. We spent half the morning capturing this British classic owned by Akos, who imported parts directly from the UK and restored it to it’s glorious days. It now runs like clockwork and definitely the pride and joy of the owner.

This is one unicorn of a ride, a stage 2 tuned M-sport F22 coupe churning close to 300bhp and 450Nm of torque, proudly owned by petite lady owner, Debbie, who appeared nothing like an adrenaline junkie. Rumours has it that this car is anything but stock. Last heard, major pipes were modded – downpipe, charge pipe, boost pipe and turbo inlet pipe.

Armed with 300 horses thereabouts, we paid a visit to the stable to retrace the roots of the horsepower. We were lucky. A chestnut stallion strutted by for a photo op, delighting the toddler. Definitely a great start to the day for a shoot to welcome an Evo X as a member of the family!

Welcome to the darker side of Japan. Our first ever rolling bike shoot happened to be quite a monster – the Yamaha MT-10 in Race Blu; 1L liquid-cooled DOHC inline-4 naked bike that’s owned by the prodigy behind shadefotowork’s Syed. What a beauty it is, and definitely a growing breed among bike enthusiasts here in Singapore.

This satisfies the boy racer in us. The VW GTI is an absolute firecracker that teases with some wheel spin at a full throttle take off. Though not as planted as the AWD Golf R, much of the joy comes this “flawed” character anyway; dances round corners and skips around undulating terrain. We definitely had a field time driving more than shooting the GTI.

We first shot the couple when they were newlyweds. This round, junior and elder tagged along. It was all fun and many light-hearted moments shared, and especially cute for a child who has just unlocked walking skills roaming all over the set.

German cars are a common sight on our roads and what we have shot are two of the more popular marques here – A BMW F10 and a Mercedes CLA180. Owned by a husband and wife team, the two lovebirds are both fun-loving and professional at the same time, which made our shoot a breeze.

With almost 300bhp to boot, we are loving the Volkswagen Golf R’s under-the-radar looks and it’s exhilarating raw pace and refinement – which is totally perfect for the traffic scene here. And being an all-rounder is a good thing – you can drive to the supermarket or laundry dry-cleaner without being labelled as an overkill. This highly regarded family hatch does nought to hundred under 5 seconds, creeping into Porsche 911 category for less than half the price, something an adrenaline junkie dad can seriously consider for his next ride.
