“Twin devils” is the most fitting way of describing these two very powerful JDM machines. They are each owned by two good buddies in the fitness industry, and that says so much about the obsession to add muscles to the meat. Find out for yourself in the engine bay setup somewhere below. If you think the stock Civic Type R is decently fast, these two are nothing short of bizarrely quick. Avoid challenging any of them on the roads at all costs. You have been fairly warned.

Because there is a sequel to everything, we continued our quest to shoot the ride of M3‘s buddy. The challenge to this is a glossy black stallion, and also a new face to the Subaru line-up. It is the 2015 2.0L WRX and we think the Japanese automaker has finally cracked the design for mass appeal. With the bowing out of Mitsubishi’s Evolution X, Subaru has came in at the right moment to fill this gap of a performance family sedan. To add icing to the cake, we have a well established modelling talent (Huirong Chua) to pose with this good-looker as well.

The Volkswagen Golf family lineup has broadened to include the estate variant, aptly known as the Golf Variant. We got our hands on this newly introduced vehicle and immediately felt the significantly longer wheelbase as compared to the hatchback. The R-line styled version is the only one available for sale in Singapore.

The whole package comes across as sporty and premium at the same time, and our first drive didn’t feel any bit “wagonish” even when attacking corners. We can safely affirm that all the charm of the Golf has been retained, with the bonus of a larger cargo space, and the bells and whistles of cool technology like Park Assist, Park Distance Control and PreCrash features. Toast to another Monster-tuned machine. This time, we shot a white 2009 Audi A4 TFSI luxury sedan and called it a wolf in sheep’s clothing. It sure looked like your regular executive sedan and only the sharp ones, on closer inspection, could tell that it neither sounded nor drove as ordinarily. We’ll leave it to your imagination because everything else happened under that hood.

We mark the departure of the V8 E90 Bavarian marque. This is a heavy and luxurious M3 by previous generation’s standard with more than 400 horses to spare. And who ever said the sports coupé was small obviously hasn’t own one before. Take for instance, we managed to transform the entire rear passenger seating into a photography studio, housing this 5.5ft model (Miki Ace) comfortably. ’nuff said.

We were secretly thrilled to shoot this Volkswagen Passat because it has just been launched in Singapore this year, and the fact that this generation is looking way better than its predecessors. The day started ominously with the sky threatening a severe thunderstorm but we were lucky the prevailing wind did us a great favour. As Mammatus clouds started forming over the fresh lawn, combined with a beautiful sun rise in the distant horizon, the white Passat (and owner) appeared to gleam so much with pride. Boxes checked for a perfect fashion magazine shoot!

This is one of the most luxurious rides we have ever shot till date, and the only one in Singapore with a decadent interior option by Mercedes Benz’s designo programme. It showcases a peerless, high-quality and exquisite paint finish, an exclusive selection of leather and interior trims that round up to more than 30 grand Singapore dollars. We call this super luxury or rather, an excessive self-indulgence of unimaginable extravagance. Our inertia to step out from shooting the cabin was strong, very strong.

These two cars are legendary in their own rights. Featuring A’s black 4-stroke turbocharged Mitsubishi Evolution X and B’s white phenomenal NA Honda Integra DC5 Type R (aka white snake), both of them pedigrees of racing bloodlines, built from ground up in the land of the rising sun. Today, we have a quick shootout in the MCE, capturing both of them from different moving angles in the wee hours of a weekday night.
